Tarak, the Tower City
Sure, we all know fantasy games. Swords and sorcery, dungeons, dragons, elves and orcs, epic quests, epic stakes, epic feats. But the standard image is an eternal Medieval period, in stasis for thousands of years. After a while, those kinds of fantasy worlds start to look alike.
So I figure there’s got to be some changes. A few technological innovations, a justification for slower progress… maybe something unusual in the way of the actual world. Enough to be distinctive, is my hope.
It’s a world where the wilderness is more than usually dangerous, which gives rise to what I believe is a unique city with a unique culture. And that can in turn give rise to some unique adventures, hopefully.
